Denial is the worst part. And the most dangerous because you feel fine. You feel great and as normal as always but you’re not. Denial makes me think you could be in love with me the way I am in love with you. You look at me for the glimpse of a second and I know you could like me, you could be in love with me. But you’re not. Denial sugar-coates everything. You suddenly don’t feel sad because your body tries to protect you. It tries to keep you from that unbearable pain in you chest by simply changing the chemistry in your brain. She could be, she would be, we should be. But we’re not.
